EFB 06-07/Plans

Nancy Hamilton and Terra Mahood are both pleased to return as co-directors of the Edmonton Festival Ballet for a second season. The directors have worked together over the summer months to create an exciting and busy plan for the new season. Their plans include the following.

In December, EFB will present the 4th annual 'Twas the Night Before Christmas production with some new choreography along with the existing production.

Nancy and Terra are also excited to start setting Agnes de Milles' Rodeo on the EFB dancers. This character ballet repertoire, along with other choreography will be presented on March 3rd at the Timms Centre Theatre.

Nancy and Terra have also been working with the director of the Edmonton Contemporary Dancers, Tina Covlin-Dewart, on creating a piece of choreography where both companies dance together. As of yet, the details of this exciting project have not been finalized.

The directors also plan on having two or more guest choreographers set work on the Edmonton Festival Ballet dancers throughout the season.

Plans for a company workshop including rehearsals, photos (headshots and groups) by Bill Mechum of Artistic Creations Photography, and some other fun activities (details to be decided on by the company as a whole) are also underway. EFB dancers should mark Saturday, September 9th and Sunday, September 10th on their calendars! A detailed schedule will be made available by the beginning of September.
