The Edmonton Festival Ballet presented Voices on Saturday, February 28th, 2008 with special guests the Edmonton Contemporary Dancers and the Edmonton School of Ballet Junior Company. The theme of the show opened the doors for great creativity among our choreographers including special guest choreographers Jacques Bourgouin, Josephine Cavaco, Maria Chia, William Thompson, and Ashley Werhun. Two of our dancers also had the opportunity to present their own choreography Pale Blue Dot and express their concern about the environment through their choice of music and movement. All of the company dancers had the opportunity to express their own 'voices' through inspirational quotes, important sayings, and messages they really wanted the audience to hear. This was done in English, French, Japanese, and sign language. Next season the Gala event will be held on Sunday, February 28th, 2010 and will act as a celebration and commemoration of EFB's 25 years.
