The Edmonton Festival Ballet is heading into its 27th year and is still going strong. This season EFB will begin its performance season with multiple performances of 'Twas the Night Before Christmas. Its Gala event in March will involve choreography by a multitude of talented choreographers and will showcase EFB dancers' diversity and strength. For the 3rd year in a row, EFB has collaborated with the Ibero Society and created a performance that offered a mixture of dance styles including works from the Victor Jara Chilean Folk Dancers. EFB will also be pleased to perform in the Edmonton Contemporary Dancers' Essence of Dance performance in June 2011 as well as explore other performance opportunities in this upcoming season. One opportunity came with the 'Unity in Diversity' performance sponsored by the St. Albert Baha'i at the Arden Theatre in St. Albert. The company performed Sierra Lacombe's 'Go Do' and this year's newly choreographed 'Snow' from 'Twas the Night Before Christmas. EFB was mentioned in the St. Albert Gazette. The company members danced exceptionally well and showed great professionalism when they continued to dance even when their music quit. The dancers already have some great photos for the season. Please check them out.
